Wine Tourism Development
WFA plays a lead role in developing the capacity for sustainable wine tourism at an industry and individual winery level, including skills development of cellar door and hospitality staff.
In September 2011 we released a new national
Wine & Food Tourism Strategy following a comprehensive project funded with support from the Australian Government. A complementary online Wine Tourism Toolkit is due for completion by November.
WFA also represents the wine industry on the
National Tourism Alliance and contributes to the development of a Wine Tourism Training Package through Tourism Training Australia.
Our other major initiative is the delivery of wine tourism training, workshops and seminars as part our
WineSkills Program. The focus is on the development of practical skills in areas such as merchandising, brand development and customer service.
