WFA, in collaboration with Tourism Australia and Restaurant & Catering Australia, has initiated the Wine & Food Tourism Conference to help wineries, restaurants, food producers and tour operators recognise and benefit from the opportunities tourism offers.
Held every two years, the inaugural event was held on 3 August 2005 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Attracting around 300 attendees, the conference examined methods
for creating successful tourism experiences, with experts sharing
their experiences, success stories and mistakes.
The conference also looked at how tourism distribution works and
how it can be leveraged to promote wine and food in regional areas.
The importance of partnering and regional collaboration is seen
as a way forward and a number of our key speakers outlined how
working together has enhanced their business.
The areas of brand building, product packaging and fulfilment
were also discussed.
Tourism is the key to survival for many wineries, restaurants
and food producers and this conference provided practical ideas
to assist individuals maximise existing opportunities.
