International Environmental Activities

WFA is involved in several international industry environmental initiatives through the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) and FIVS (the international alcoholic beverage trade association).

We co-chair FIVS’s Sustainability Committee and have played a key role in developing the Global Wine Sector Environmental Sustainability Principles (PDF) and the International Wine Carbon Protocol and Calculator (see EntWine Australia carbon calculator site).

On behalf of the Australian wine industry, WFA liaises with a number of organisations on environmental matters including:

• World Resources Institute
• International Organisation for Standardisation, via Standards Australia
• British Retailers Consortium
• International retailers
• International media
