Business Development
WFA helps winemakers build profitable and sustainable businesses that can survive changing economic conditions. We work with a number of professional partners to provide a range of resources.
Our major initiative is WineSkills, a national business workshop program that offers practical solutions across key operational areas, including Sales & Marketing, Business Planning, Market Development, Financial Operations and Wine Tourism.
A
Gross Margin Ready Reckoner developed as part of the
Directions to 2025 strategy in 2007 was expanded and upgraded in early 2010 as part of the
Wine Restructuring Action Agenda. This on-line business planning tool allows wine businesses to test the profitability of different production, market and sales scenarios.
Benchmarking Guides (PDF) for
small,
medium and
large wineries created as part of
Directions can be accessed via the Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation website.
