Committees
The Federation’s three membership categories each have their own Membership Committees.
In addition, the Board is advised by the following committees:
- Provides environmental policy direction to the WFA.
- Established jointly by WFA and Wine Grape Growers' Australia to ensure R&D, especially that funded by industry levies, delivers cost-effective outcomes that meet the current and future needs of the Australian grape and wine industry.
- Provides a forum for direct discussion among stakeholders and responds to political, technological, environmental, regulatory and market driven changes in wine, wine product and brandy packaging.
- Reviews and provide technical input on wine production to Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)
- Provides technical input into international fora, including the Codex Alimentarius Commission and the OIV
- Assesses technical requirements of trading partners and provide advice to WFA to liberalise these requirements.
- WFA and Wine Grape Growers' Australia jointly fund a National Viticulture Biosecurity Committee (NVBC) to advise their respective Boards.
